The Industrial Archaeology starts here
Schio has always been a great productive reality of the land near Vicenza. Human and working stories have always woven and complete. The territory grew thanks to the wollen mills.
The scledensis have always cared for their job and it is for this reason that the dramatic stories of the accidents on their job have always touched them in particular way.
That's why they wanted to remember all those people which have come to miss really while they were doing what they loved to do. The local administration may have thought that a plaque was too obvious so here they have chosen instead an old turbine Pelton that served to channel and to exploit the strength of the water to operate the old machineries for the workmanship of the wool.
The turbine has been restored and painted and it looks like a flower, a flower placed on a huge lawn to remember all those who lost their lives doing the job they loved.
