Wool Route
This itinerary includes visits to the mosl significanl wool mills along Ihe banks of the Maestra Canal and relalive residenlial areas. It begins with the Conte Wool Mill (1757) and continues with the large complex of Ihe Francesca Rossi Wool Mill (/8/7, /849 and laler), Ihen Marzotto, characterised by Ihe impasing mass of Ihe Fabbrica Alta (/862) of Belgian origin and by Ihe eclectic Jacquard Garden (1859 -/878). Having visiled Ihe New Workers' Neighbourhood (1872-/890 ca.), conceived by Alessandro Rossi ond designed by Anlonio Caregaro Negrin as a 'garden lown', we reach Ihe Cozzola Wool Mill (1860), a reallexlile museum even Ihough it is stili operating, flanked by Ihe owners' small villa and the workers' houses. Leaving behind Ihe Canal and Schio, the route can be enriched by a visillo Ihe Marzotto Wool Mill and the 'sociol town ' in Valdagno or else a visil to Ihe Ferrarin Wool Mill in Thiene.
